Stafford Borough Council has brought in a new football pitch line marking machine to help keep local pitches ready for matches.

The new machine has been named Linel and will be used to mark football pitches managed by the council across Stafford Borough.
The council says the battery-powered machine can mark out a pitch in around 20 minutes and uses SatNav technology to help get the lines in place.
Where will it be used?
Linel will be used on the 16 adult and junior football pitches managed by Stafford Borough Council.
The idea is to speed up the job of marking pitches, especially during busy times when local teams need pitches ready for games.
Why does it matter?
The new machine should also free up council staff for other outdoor jobs.
Stafford Borough Council says this could include:
Tidying play areas
Litter picking
Emptying bins
Other maintenance work around the borough
So while Linel gets on with the pitch markings, staff can spend more time keeping other public spaces tidy.
A new signing for local pitches
The council has described Linel as a new addition to its squad.
Unlike the footballer with a similar-sounding name, this Linel will be focused on keeping pitch markings neat and ready for local footballers.
