Free Understanding Dementia Event Coming To Penkridge

A free community event is being held in Penkridge to help people better understand dementia and how to support those living with it.

The Understanding Dementia event follows the success of a recent dementia awareness session at Aldridge Wellbeing Centre.
It will take place on:

Who is the event for?
The session is open to:
Carers
Families
Health and care professionals
Friends of people living with dementia
Anyone who wants to learn more
The event will offer practical advice in a welcoming space, with refreshments provided.
What will people learn?
The session aims to help people:
Learn more about dementia and its different forms
Understand common signs and symptoms
Gain insight into what life can be like for people with dementia
Explore better ways to communicate and offer support
Find out about local support services and resources
Organisers hope the event will help start open conversations, reduce stigma and build stronger support for local people affected by dementia.
