Two parks in Stafford Borough are marking a combined 200 years of local history with new floral displays.
Carpet beds in Victoria Park, Stafford, and Stonefield Park, Stone, have been designed to honour two local organisations celebrating major anniversaries this year.

The flower bed in Victoria Park features the logo of Stafford Rangers Football Club, which is marking its 150th anniversary. The display in Stonefield Park marks 50 years of Girlguiding’s A Handful of Songs show.
Around 800 plants have been used across the two beds, with different colours used to create the designs.
Stafford Rangers is a semi-professional football club. Its formation is recognised as 1876, based on local newspaper reports, as early club minute books were destroyed during the First World War.
A Handful of Songs is a biannual Girlguiding show involving Guides from Stone, Eccleshall and surrounding villages. Over the years, the show has included singing, dancing and comedy.
Stafford Borough Council said its parks have previously used floral displays to mark major events, including VE and VJ anniversaries, the coronation of King Charles III, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee, the NHS, the armed forces, charities and local organisations.
Councillor Gillian Pardesi, Cabinet Member for Leisure at Stafford Borough Council, said the displays show appreciation for local organisations that have reached key milestones.
Both Victoria Park and Stonefield Park hold Green Flag awards, which recognise well-managed parks and green spaces.
