Two charged over suspected monkey dust supply after Birmingham search

Two people are due to appear in court charged with drug offences after police searched a property in Birmingham.


Staffordshire Police said officers searched an address and vehicles in the Washwood Heath area on Wednesday evening, 3 June.

A significant amount of monkey dust was recovered from the address, according to police. Two vehicles believed to be linked to the investigation were also seized by West Midlands Police from outside the property.


Connor Michael Barnett, aged 24, of Birmingham, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of class B drugs, monkey dust, and possession with intent to supply class B drugs, monkey dust.


He has also been charged with driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

Joanne Patricia Smith, aged 41, of Stafford, has been charged with possession with intent to supply class B drugs, monkey dust, possession of class B drugs, ketamine, and possession of criminal property.


Stafford Borough Police said both remain in custody ahead of an appearance due at North Staffordshire Justice Centre today, Friday 5 June.


Staffordshire Police said it continues to work to disrupt the supply of monkey dust in Staffordshire.
