Punjabi Tavern opens at former Lord Nelson pub in Stafford

A brand new bar and grill has officially opened on Eastgate Street in Stafford town centre.


Punjabi Tavern opened today, Monday 15 June, inside the former Lord Nelson pub.



The venue has been transformed inside, with a fresh new look, a full food menu, bar area, live sports and a warm welcome for customers.


The menu brings together Punjabi and Indian-inspired dishes, along with pub favourites and something a little different.


Starters include chicken tikka, lamb chops, sheesh kebab, chilli chicken, chilli paneer, vegetable pakora, samosas and fish pakora.


For mains, customers can choose dishes such as jalfrezi, madras, saag, rogan josh, korma, balti and bhuna, with options including chicken, lamb, paneer and prawn.

There is also a grill section, with mixed grills, lamb chops, chicken tikka, chicken wings, fish pakora and a vegetarian grill.


Other menu options include biryani, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, fish methi, prawn curry, sea bass with Bombay aloo, wraps, burgers, vegetarian curries, rice, naan breads and chips.


Punjabi Tavern also offers a dessert menu, with choices including Biscoff cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake, fudge cake, matka kulfi and ice cream desserts.

The venue is open seven days a week from midday to 9pm.


The bar is open during those hours. Food is served every day from 3pm to 9pm, except Tuesdays when no food is served.


Punjabi Tavern is now open at the former Lord Nelson pub on Eastgate Street, Stafford.
